This round we talked to Jasna Dugalić, Deputy Managing Director of Direct Media United Solutions.
What’s your rundown of the year behind us in terms of marketing communications in Serbia? What did the 2008 crisis teach us and what is the takeaway from 2020?
The past year was challenging and limiting, but it did bring results. It brought about massive growth in the way we work and in the way we embrace change as a profession, which is an excellent asset that is yet to benefit us. It also brought awards, among them becoming a People First company, which is a recognition coming from our employees, who looked quite favorably upon everything we as an agency did to cushion the pandemic’s first wave and protect our employees’ health, all the while maintaining an uninterrupted workflow. We were also creative and won the Kaktus award for young talents, at the same time keeping constant communication with the market and realizing that as a leader we must send messages of encouragement. Every crisis brings something different. In 2008 we faced a financial crisis, and last year an epidemiological one that gave rise to material changes in the way we live, act, work, and communicate, and consequently in the economy. Each one teaches us something new.
