If you studied successful people a bit more carefully, you would realize that they are all different, and that their stories can also differ a lot. However, there is something they all have in common – they are invested in lifelong learning. This was the insight that inspired Tim Bilyeu to make his Impact Theory on YouTube in order to provide knowledge and value to his audience with specific ideas on how to achieve their dreams. And this is not just empty words – he invited guests such as Seth Godin, Simon Sinek, Ryan Holiday and David Goggins to his show.
Tom Bilyeu is actually as interesting as his show. A man who although bankrupted and experiencing a complete personal and professional debacle decided to once again risk everything so he and several partners created Quest Nutrition – a company which is nowadays worth billions. But, today we are not recommending Tom himself (though feel free to google him), but his show Impact Theory.
Impact Theory is a show that succeeded Inside Quest – a series of videos created in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, Tom has rebranded the show, changed its name and started to invite even more prominent guests. Today you can find hundreds of videos related to every facet of life on his channel – advice on business, health, parenting, relationships and personal development.
Today I have selected – with a heavy heart 😊 –only 5 videos that can provide you with a good starting point. I deliberately say “starting point” because I am sure that once you start watching Impact Theory you won’t be able to stop. (Hmm, maybe it’s actually good that I’m recommending it to you during the corona virus outbreak because it’s suitable for binge-watching?! 😊)
So, one of my favorites is the episode featuring Jay Samit, the man calling himself “a change agent” (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuvhPkgYS68 ). If you’re an entrepreneur or a fan of innovations, if you need an inspiration on how to turn great ideas into reality without investing a cent, he’s your man.
My second recommendation would be the episode featuring Naveen Jain. Naveen is a pioneer in several industries, Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year”, a slumdog billionaire, a philanthropist trying to develop self- sustainable systems where they are needed the most. The man telling you that in order to create a billion dollars you just need an idea on how to solve a 10 billion dollar problem – which is exactly what he has done. 😊 For a healthy dose of ideas and optimism click on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_itHlMwrFA
If you are interested in the functioning of the brain and how to hack your brain in order for you to improve your work, Jim Kwick is your man. Jim has developed his own learning system applied by successful people everywhere from Elon Musk and Richard Branson to Harvard students. If you want to turn learning into your own super power, these 50 minutes are exactly what you need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjdDnCN9yyE
And now a panacea – Simon Sinek. If you’re a manager, CEO, leader – Sinek. If you want to understand how to put people before profit – Sinek. If you want to become a better leader – Sinek. If you have a team consisting of more than one person – Sinek. His appearance on Tom’s show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2K4VqkfRaM . P.S. As a bonus I’m providing a link for his first appearance on Inside Quest which is where all those lovely video clips on Millenials everybody is sharing lately come from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPwYUDD9Pd4
And finally, a recommendation that you have probably expected – Seth Godin. A man who made a direct marketing website as early as in 1995 and then sold it to Yahoo for 30 million dollars 3 years later. The man who has written 18 bestsellers. The man who makes the word “blogger” sound really good. Listen to Tom’s show in order to see why only people to prosper in the future the will be those whose jobs cannot be taught by anybody else – neither men nor machines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F80WmftF5YY
